Sourcing Manager

About the role

At Alcon, a global leader in eye health, the Sourcing Manager is part of the Supply Chain function responsible for optimizing procurement operations. The role focuses on managing sourcing strategies, supplier relationships and cost‑saving initiatives to ensure quality and delivery of products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for assigned categories, meeting quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support continuity and business objectives.
• Conduct market research and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service and reliability.
• Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes, including RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiations and performance management.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities through supplier optimization and process improvements.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions to meet quality, service and delivery expectations.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, contractual obligations and budget requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and value creation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (or high school + 13 years, associate + 9 years, M.S. + 2 years, PhD + 0 years).
• Fluent reading, writing and communication in English.
• Minimum five years of relevant procurement or sourcing experience.
