Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (NJ/PA, Remote Available)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Examiner in Marlton, NJ, with New Jersey and Pennsylvania jurisdictional experience. The role analyzes Lost-Time Workers Compensation claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due, while keeping claims adjudication within service expectations, industry best practices and client requirements. The position is open to remote work if you live outside commuting distance of the office.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions requests in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• 2+ years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• Jurisdiction knowledge of New Jersey and Pennsylvania; licensing not required.
• Clear and conceptual thinking, good judgment, problem-solving and analysis, ability to handle stress and multiple priorities, and computer keyboarding.
