Wireless Technician

About the role

Assurant is hiring a Wireless Technician in Irving, Texas, to inspect, refurbish, test, program, tune, troubleshoot and repair complex radio frequency electro-mechanical devices such as mobile phones. The work is done from schematics and diagrams using multi-meters, oscilloscopes, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers and communication test sets, at component level. It is a production environment with productivity and quality standards, and the schedule is Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct root cause failure analysis and troubleshooting on suspected defective equipment
• Perform repetitive electromechanical assembly with hand and electric tools
• Repair and program equipment, including soldering and de-soldering with handheld equipment
• Identify and report root cause and routine process deficiencies
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and meet production goals
• Take part in continuous improvement and team building activities
• Move materials as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of skill-related experience with components, testing requirements and/or assembly of small electronics
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and to handle multiple priorities
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds, with close vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Overtime and Saturday work as needed

Required skills

• Demonstrated high-level proficiency with soldering and de-soldering
• Basic computer skills and the ability to enter data on multiple screens
• Attention to detail
• Helpful: associate's degree in electronics or related technical degree, one year of manufacturing experience, knowledge of analog, digital and RF disciplines
