Wind Technician Level II/III

About the role

The Wind Technician Level II/III ensures safe and efficient operation of wind turbine assets. You will act as a safety champion, mentor junior staff, and support continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Intervene on unsafe acts and promote safe behavior.
• Assist site and QSE management with root‑cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Complete all assigned safety training and use required PPE.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and mentor lower‑level staff.
• Navigate and input data in MyTime, MyTask, and related cost allocation tools.
• Utilize online tools such as Toolkit, SAP, VOB, VGA, VIS, VTM, and Insite Toolbox.
• Perform basic troubleshooting, follow work instructions, and propose improvements.
• Manage specialty jobs including crane work and CIM projects.
• Foster strong internal partnerships and promote a collaborative team environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience, or equivalent hydraulic/electrical/mechanical experience.
• Internal candidates must hold LOTO II, D‑Service, TBC Core 100 & 200, and Turbine‑specific 100 & 200 certifications; external candidates must obtain them within 6 months.
• Intermediate knowledge of industrial safety practices (Confined Space, Lock‑out/Tag‑out).
• Valid driver’s license; passport preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules.

Required skills

• Lock‑out/Tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
• Confined Space safety.
• Electrical, hydraulic and mechanical system knowledge.
• Use of fluke meters and hydraulic pressure gauges.
• Proficiency with SAP, Toolkit, VOB, VGA, VIS, VTM, MyTime, MyTask, and Insite Toolbox.
• Crane operation and CIM project handling.
