Wellness Nurse PRN

About the role

Experience Senior Living is looking for a Wellness Nurse to join its team in Fort Collins. This is a PRN position where the nurse acts as charge nurse in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness, and supports the day-to-day care of residents.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as charge nurse when the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness are absent.
• Contribute to medication management, including orders, administration, storage, documentation and compliance with state regulations, guidelines and company policy.
• Keep resident rooms and common areas clean and safe.
• Maintain care partners and medication assistants' knowledge of each resident's condition and train them to deliver care professionally and sensitively.
• Assist residents with self-medication and implement plans of care and change-in-condition plans recommended by the Resident Wellness Director.
• Document care accurately and on time, complete electronic health record charting, assessments, accident and incident reports, and maintain positive relationships with residents, families and responsible parties.
• Manage emergency situations such as disasters and fires, and ensure adequately trained care partners are available for each shift.

Required profile

• Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license (LVN/LPN preferred).
• Two years of experience in a senior living environment preferred.
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Required skills

• Successful completion of all company training programs.
• Effective communication with residents, families, vendors and the wellness and leadership teams.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions.
• Neat appearance in line with the dress code.
