Part-Time Wellness Nurse (6am-2pm)

About the role

Experience Senior Living is looking for a part-time Wellness Nurse for its Fort Collins facility, working the 6am-2pm shift. The nurse acts as charge nurse when the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness are absent and helps deliver care to residents.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as charge nurse in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness
• Contribute to medication management: orders, administration, storage, documentation, in line with state regulations, company policy and procedures
• Keep resident rooms and common areas clean and safe
• Maintain care partners and medication assistants' knowledge of each resident's condition and train them to provide care professionally and sensitively
• Assist residents with self-medication and implement plans of care and change-of-condition plans recommended by the Resident Wellness Director
• Document care accurately and on time, complete electronic health record charting and assessments, and file accident and incident reports
• Build positive relationships with residents, families and responsible parties, and manage emergencies such as fires and disasters
• Ensure adequately trained care partners and medication assistants are available for each scheduled shift

Required profile

• Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license (LVN/LPN preferred)
• Two years of experience in a senior living environment preferred
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays

Required skills

• Complete all company-specified training programs
• Effective communication with residents, families, vendors and the wellness and leadership teams
• Strong organizational skills and ability to make independent decisions
• Neat appearance in accordance with the dress code
