Well Control Technician – Onsite

About the role

Helmerich and Payne is seeking a Well Control Technician to join its drilling operations team. The role involves hands‑on work with well control equipment, ensuring safety and reliability on‑site across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble choke manifolds on drilling rigs.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on Blowout Preventer (BOP) equipment.
• Respond to urgent field issues on an on‑call basis.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment status and maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Thorough knowledge of BOP and well‑control equipment.
• Experience with field inspections related to BOP systems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Basic PC skills (Excel, Word).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
• High school diploma or GED with 1‑3 years of well‑control or drilling‑rig experience.
