Welding Technician – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Welding Technician for its 2nd‑shift team in Buffalo, NY. The role supports the Military Aircraft Group by performing high‑precision electron beam welding on production and prototype components.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electron beam welding equipment, including set‑up, adjustment, and routine preventative maintenance.
• Inspect welded parts and fixtures using microscopes and dimensional gauges to verify quality and compliance.
• Perform electronic and mechanical modifications to welding equipment as required.
• Follow welding schedules and worksheets, determining voltage, amperage, travel distance, and other parameters.
• Assemble weld‑process hardware, create weld samples, and conduct microscopic inspections.
• Determine operating requirements (voltage, temperature, position, time) when detailed instructions are unavailable.
• Program CNC machines and apply mathematical calculations, including trigonometry, for complex weld setups.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED (preferred) with ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Minimum three years of experience in production or engineering welding, preferably with electron beam technology.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Enrollment in Moog’s FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required for safety‑sensitive work.
