About the role

The Welding and Joining Technology Instructor delivers classroom and laboratory instruction for welding programs, ensuring students acquire the technical competencies required for industry success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update instructor guidebooks, syllabi, and lesson plans for each assigned course.
• Create and maintain course content, including outlines, competency lists, required tools, textbooks, and evaluation procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean learning environment by posting safety procedures, inspecting equipment, and establishing a safety program.
• Prepare class materials, order supplies, and use instructional technology to enhance learning.
• Participate in advisory committee meetings, document agendas, minutes, and program progress.
• Stay informed about industry trends, maintain contacts with business professionals, and integrate current practices into instruction.

Required profile

• Knowledge of institutional services, degree, diploma, and certificate programs offered by Augusta Technical College.
• Familiarity with job placement, financial aid, library resources, and bookstore operations.
• Ability to engage with the program’s industry and business community.
