Welder

About the role

Falls Fabricating is hiring a Welder in its Welding department in Little Falls, reporting to the Manager. The role covers reading prints and shop routing, MIG and TIG welding, and supporting production runs, with a focus on quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Read basic prints and shop routing instructions, and measure production parts
• Weld and tack weld mild steel; TIG weld or tack weld minor leaks on mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel
• Set up and build simple fixtures to position parts for welding
• Recognize nonconforming products and services and act to prevent them
• Take part in quality audits and help develop quality plans
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area and follow safety policies
• Stop production if a process adversely affects product quality

Required profile

• Must pass the Falls Fabricating Welding Test
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not necessary
• Ability to stand and walk constantly, and to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach regularly

Required skills

• Reading prints and measuring to 1/32" increments with a tape measure and to .001" with a caliper
• MIG and TIG welding
• Basic understanding of the ISO 9001:2008 quality system
