Welder IV – 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog’s Space and Defense Group is seeking a Welder IV for a second‑shift, onsite position in East Aurora, New York. The role involves performing advanced welding processes on diversified production and prototype parts while supporting a high‑performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Operate electron‑beam (EB) welding, orbital (semi‑automatic TIG tube) welding, and manual/semiautomatic TIG welding equipment in clean‑room environments.
• Set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment, including tube trimming, filter cleaning, oil checks, filament changes, and electron‑gun realignment.
• Interpret welding schedules, define voltage, amperage, travel distance, and perform CNC programming when required.
• Inspect weld samples under a microscope, conduct dimensional checks with drop gauges, and document results.
• Lead the work cell, train technicians, and coordinate with engineering to resolve production challenges.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) with demonstrated ability to follow written and computer instructions in English.
• Minimum five years of relevant welding experience, preferably with EB, orbital, and TIG processes.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to perform trigonometric calculations for CNC setups.
