Welder Fabricator – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

A locally owned manufacturer specializing in large CNC milling and precision machining is seeking a skilled Welder Fabricator to join their Davenport, IA team. You will take projects from design to finished product, interpreting complex blueprints and welding custom components.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze engineering blueprints, schematics, and weld symbols to plan fabrication sequences.
• Perform structural and cosmetic welds using MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) techniques in all positions.
• Cut, bend, shape, fit, and align raw metal components with plasma cutters, band saws, shears, and grinders.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for defects, ensuring strict quality standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator in a manufacturing or job‑shop environment.
• Ability to work well with toolmakers, management, and quality inspectors to meet production deadlines.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and work in a demanding shop environment.

Required skills

• Advanced blueprint reading and weld joint layout.
• Proficiency with MIG and TIG welding processes on aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
• Operation of shop equipment such as plasma cutters, band saws, shears, and grinders.
