Lead Crane Technician

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Lead Crane Technician to join its 1st shift industrial maintenance team in Davenport, IA. Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., which may vary depending on customer demand. The lead technician provides advanced expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting and preventive and corrective maintenance in a manufacturing environment, leads the maintenance staff and directs the team's daily workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical/mechanical preventive maintenance, inspection and repair of overhead cranes
• Provide leadership to the maintenance staff and direct the team's daily workflow
• Ensure safe work practices are followed and monitor PM activities for on-time completion
• Instruct and assist other technicians as needed
• Operate aerial and platform lifts, read schematics and diagrams, and follow lockout/tagout procedures
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in the CMMS and respond to customer work orders while ensuring compliance with codes and standards
• Analyze work problems, recommend improvements to maintenance methods and equipment performance, and operate diagnostic and testing instruments

Required profile

• Five years of experience maintaining overhead cranes, jib hoists, conveyors or related equipment in an industrial manufacturing setting, or equivalent education and experience
• Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends when required

Preferred qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in industrial mechanical, HVAC or related facility maintenance
• Experience with building mechanical equipment, facility preventive maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical troubleshooting and CMMS
