Water Resources Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

About the role

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) to join our HMB team in Nashville. The role supports the design, analysis and permitting of drinking water and sanitary sewer projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of water resource projects, including drinking water and sanitary sewer collection networks.
• Perform hydraulic calculations using computer modeling software and industry‑standard tools.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and regulatory applications to support permitting efforts.
• Conduct field investigations, site assessments and data collection for utility design.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, environmental specialists and regulatory agencies.
• Produce technical drawings, maps, specifications and contract documents using AutoCAD, GIS and related software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0‑4 years of experience in water resources engineering (internships or co‑op experience acceptable).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

• Microsoft Office suite.
