Water and Wastewater Consultant – Pumps, Valves, Aeration

About the role

HD Supply is looking for a Water and Wastewater Consultant focused on pumps, valves and aeration, working remotely. The consultant builds product and service solutions tailored to customer needs, secures new sales and retains customers by applying technical product and brand knowledge. Candidates must live in the state named in the listing (Illinois) unless another state is specified.

Key responsibilities

• Help design, develop and test new products, solutions and services that meet customer needs and reduce sales barriers.
• Educate and train internal associates on customers, products, regulatory requirements and industry trends through presentations, seminars and training sessions.
• Work with internal support departments to generate new business and grow existing accounts.
• Provide technical training to customers and communicate their feedback for future product development.
• Meet customers regularly to understand their evolving needs and position product solutions accordingly.
• Assess applications of company products or services and offer solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Attend trade shows, customer events and national account meetings to promote product and brand awareness.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on products and the industry, troubleshoot complex problems and make decisions under uncertainty.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a related discipline, typically 5-8 years of experience in a related field; MS/MA with generally 3-5 years of experience.
• Certification is required in some areas.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently, with guidance only on unusual or complex issues.
