Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer

About the role

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wastewater Treatment Process Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work with a core group of engineers on studies, designs, and field assignments for clients. This role is based in our Pasadena office but allows for hybrid remote working options in the general Los Angeles area.

Key responsibilities

• Work effectively on water and wastewater engineering capital project teams and cross‑functional teams on projects including conventional treatment, membrane bioreactors (MBR), reverse osmosis, UV, ozone and other advanced processes.
• Provide process engineering services to clients, primarily in Southern California, evaluating and selecting treatment approaches, designing systems and plant improvements.
• Plan and execute projects through approach definition, resource planning, options analysis, computer modeling, process and equipment design, engineering document development, and ownership through plan, design, procure, construct and commissioning phases.
• Offer technical leadership, collaboration and business‑value based prioritization and problem solving.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.

Required profile

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience in the water and wastewater industry.
• M.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering is desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desirable.
• Experience with municipal wastewater systems is essential.
• Solid knowledge and experience in wastewater process modeling (e.g., BioWin) is desirable.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and familiarity with industry practices and regulations.

What we offer

• Salary range $74,800 – $130,900 per year.
