Warehouse Operations Manager

About the role

A leading distributor in West Michigan is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead all warehouse activities in a fast‑paced distribution environment. The role focuses on driving efficiency, safety, and performance while managing a large team of associates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a large team of pickers, Hi‑Lo drivers, and packers, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and order‑fulfillment operations to ensure productivity.
• Allocate labor and resources strategically based on daily needs.
• Drive lean initiatives, reduce waste, and improve performance.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain inventory accuracy (99%+) through cycle counting and system reconciliation (Agility, Epicor).
• Analyze operational data to inform decision‑making.
• Champion a safety‑first culture and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Participate in budgeting and manage departmental expenses.
• Plan long‑term staffing, equipment, and facility improvements.
• Step in to perform warehouse duties when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of warehouse management experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large teams.
• Strong background in lean principles and continuous improvement.
• Data‑driven mindset with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as Hi‑Lo forklifts.
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
