Warehouse Lead

About the role

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for ensuring that customer orders are shipped on schedule each day while maintaining smooth daily operations of the Shipping Department. This position requires hands‑on involvement in warehouse tasks and the ability to lead a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Distribute workload among team members and perform put‑away, picking, checking, and loading as needed.
• Oversee order tracking, print orders, create bills of lading, and file documentation according to ISO standards.
• Process JDE documentation, manage transportation‑management‑service (TMC) functions, and create shipping labels.
• Coordinate with freight carriers, resolve tracking and POD issues, and schedule LTL pickups.
• Train employees, assign work, and support warehouse coordinators during absences.
• Perform general warehouse duties such as cleanup, repacking, inventory counts, and occasional entry‑level tasks.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse office environment.
• Ability to multitask, read and interpret documents, and communicate effectively with co‑workers, customers, and truck drivers.
• Motivated, independent worker willing to work overtime and weekends when volume demands.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDE (Enterprise Resource Planning system).
• Strong data‑entry skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic internet navigation and familiarity with transportation‑management tools.
