Warehouse Associate (1st Shift)

About the role

The Consumer Health Logistics Center (CHLC) in Groveport, Ohio is Cardinal Health's newest pharmaceutical supply chain operation, about 350,000 square feet and using automation technology to pick, pack and ship consumer health products. The Warehouse Associate works in the inbound section, receiving products, and in the outbound section, shipping products. The shift runs Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm (or until the task is done), and the applicant must be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established processes to fulfill orders: accurately pick products, perform quality control checks, pack products and prepare orders for shipment
• Cross-train in multiple areas of the warehouse and take part in projects as needed
• Perform housekeeping and inventory control tasks and keep the work area clean and safe
• Be willing to train and obtain certification to operate material handling equipment such as order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks and walkie riders

Required profile

• Open to candidates with little to no warehouse experience; all training starts on the first day
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work comfortably at heights of 20-30 ft regularly
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for the whole shift, and to follow directions and changing priorities
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Basic proficiency in reading and writing English to process documents

Required skills

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, goal-oriented distribution environment and able to meet performance quotas and attendance requirements
• Experience with computers or point-of-sale systems is a plus
