VP of Finance

About the role

Fathom, a fast‑growing PLG SaaS company, is looking for a VP of Finance to become the financial brain of the organization. You will own the operating model, guide unit‑economics decisions, and manage AI‑related cost lines while partnering directly with the CEO and go‑to‑market leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the company’s three‑statement financial model, built for a PLG business.
• Lead GTM finance: analyze marketing ROI, customer profitability, renewals, expansions, and sales productivity.
• Own unit‑economics modeling (LTV, CAC, payback, NRR, GRR) and pricing/packaging scenarios.
• Forecast and control AI/LLM inference costs and cloud COGS, collaborating with engineering on optimization.
• Drive high‑leverage strategic finance projects such as build‑vs‑buy analyses, market sizing, and international expansion modeling.
• Define key financial metrics, set reporting standards, and specify dashboards for internal and external use.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with deep experience in SaaS, preferably PLG‑focused.
• Proven ability to partner with CEOs, product, sales, marketing, and engineering teams on financial decisions.
• Comfortable working in a high‑growth, AI‑enabled environment where cost structures evolve rapidly.
• Self‑starter who can identify and execute high‑impact analyses without direction.
