About the role

As a member of the Claims Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President of Material Damage & Property Claims will shape the strategic direction and operational performance of MAPFRE’s property claims business. The role focuses on delivering efficient, innovative, and customer‑centric claim solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a long‑term strategy for material damage and property claims aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead large, multi‑layered teams, fostering performance, engagement, and leadership development.
• Drive operational excellence through process optimisation, automation and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Champion digital transformation and emerging technologies within the claims function.
• Ensure best‑in‑class customer experience with responsive, transparent, and empathetic handling.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with underwriting, legal, compliance and risk to achieve holistic outcomes.
• Maintain rigorous oversight of regulatory compliance, claims governance and fraud prevention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or equivalent professional expertise strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including senior or executive‑level claims roles.
• Proven track record of leading transformation initiatives and delivering operational improvements.
