About the role

Mapfre Insurance is seeking highly motivated, intellectually curious college students to join its Actuarial Summer Internship Program for a 10‑week period (June 7 – August 13) in Webster, Massachusetts. The internship offers the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real‑world business challenges, work alongside experienced actuarial professionals, and develop skills that will differentiate you in your future career.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets and provide actionable business insights.
• Assist in building, enhancing, and refining actuarial models and tools.
• Present findings and recommendations to business partners and leadership.
• Collaborate with actuarial professionals and cross‑functional teams on strategic business projects.
• Participate in actuarial and insurance training sessions, networking opportunities, and community volunteer activities.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Completion of at least one actuarial exam.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or SAS is a plus.
