VP Legal, Commercial

About the role

StackAdapt is seeking a senior‑level attorney to serve as VP Legal, Commercial. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will lead a dedicated commercial legal team and partner closely with revenue functions to drive and safeguard commercial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of three commercial lawyers, setting priorities and supporting growth.
• Build and scale the commercial legal function using automation and AI, creating self‑serve resources for rapid stakeholder access.
• Identify, implement and champion AI‑enabled tooling to improve contracting speed, quality and visibility.
• Balance high‑touch strategic deals with low‑touch automated workflow pipelines.
• Set long‑term vision, oversee hiring and development of the legal department.
• Partner with executive and senior leadership on commercial strategy, risk tolerance and legal operations.
• Structure, negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including major customer and alliance contracts.
• Provide legal advice to key stakeholders and deliver thought leadership internally and externally.

Required profile

• Practical, business‑minded lawyer with at least 10 years of relevant experience in‑house or at a reputable firm.
• Experience in advertising or marketing technology environments is preferred.
• US legal experience is a plus.
