VP Finance & Controller – Family Office/Fund

About the role

We are seeking a Vice President of Finance and Controller to join a fast‑growing finance team within a premier alternative investment management firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee accounting, reporting, cash management, and investor communications for multiple fund entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual workpapers and financial statement packages.
• Develop cash forecasts, manage expense budgets, and oversee fund cash balances.
• Lead month‑end close activities, including accruals, reclassifications, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review shadow books, investor allocations, and reporting from fund administrators.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
• Participate in budget and forecast development and prepare quarterly deliverables for the CFO.
• Manage special assignments related to tax structuring, compliance, and third‑party service oversight.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or related roles.
• College degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in hedge funds, master‑feeder structures, technology or multi‑strategy funds is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting processes and the impact of financial decisions.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and the ability to work independently and as a team player.
