Visual and Performing Arts Teacher (Grades 4-8)

About the role

The Manteca Unified School District is seeking a qualified Visual and Performing Arts Teacher for grades 4‑8. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality instruction in art, dance, music, and/or theatre, fostering creativity and skill development across the elementary and middle school levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess curriculum in visual and performing arts for grades 4‑8.
• Create engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and district goals.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff.
• Utilize district technology resources, including computers and scanners, for instructional purposes.
• Complete required pre‑employment steps such as TB clearance and fingerprinting.

Required profile

• Valid Multiple Subjects teaching credential with EL Authorization in Art, Dance, Music, and/or Theatre, or a Single Subject credential in one of those areas.
• Two recent letters of recommendation (within 12 months) from a principal, department chair, or university supervisor.
• Official transcripts for all colleges/universities attended.
• Letter of introduction and current resume.
• Optional CBEST certification.

Required skills

• Credentialed expertise in visual or performing arts education.
• Knowledge of California teaching standards and EL Authorization requirements.
• Ability to develop and assess arts‑based curricula.
