Vice President, Tech Investment Banking (NYC/SF)

About the role

Santander CIB is seeking a Vice President to lead its Technology coverage within Investment Banking. The role is based in either New York or San Francisco and focuses on originating and executing complex M&A, capital markets, and advisory transactions for tech clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead origination and execution of M&A, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and structured finance deals.
• Manage day‑to‑day deal processes, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
• Oversee development and quality control of financial models and client presentation materials.
• Serve as primary client contact throughout deal execution.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in collaboration with senior bankers.
• Mentor analysts and associates and provide guidance on deal work.
• Travel as required by senior deal team members or clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related field (required).
• MBA or Master’s degree (preferred).
• 6+ years of corporate finance experience as a coverage banker in the tech sector at a bulge‑bracket firm.
• Proven track record of transaction execution and client relationship management.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic advisory capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and synthesize large amounts of information.
