Vice President, Robot Learning

About the role

The company is an early‑stage robotics startup developing humanoid telepresence systems for industrial work. As Vice President of Robot Learning you will define the robot learning strategy and lead the organization from teleoperation data collection to autonomous policies.

Key responsibilities

• Own the robot learning roadmap and build data pipelines that turn teleoperation sessions into high‑quality training data.
• Develop and deploy imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and policy‑optimization systems for contact‑rich manipulation.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, perception, and hardware engineers to create an integrated robotic platform.
• Lead, mentor and grow a world‑class robot learning team while establishing research priorities and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent expertise in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science or a related field.
• Significant experience building real‑world robot learning systems and shipping robotics products from research to production.
• Proven track record leading highly technical teams or major robotics initiatives.

Required skills

• Imitation learning and reinforcement learning techniques.
• Policy learning and optimization for physical robots.
• Contact‑rich manipulation, force feedback, and real‑world robotic control.
• Designing data pipelines for teleoperation and demonstration data.
