Vice President of Cybersecurity

About the role

The Vice President of Cyber Operations will serve as the enterprise leader for cybersecurity across the newly merged credit union. This senior role is responsible for protecting the organization’s digital assets, leading incident response, ensuring cyber resilience, and aligning security operations with business continuity and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mature the enterprise Security Operations Center (SOC), overseeing 24/7 threat monitoring, detection, triage, escalation, and response.
• Strategize and implement improvements to the SOC Target Operating Model, managing SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence, and alerting technologies.
• Establish and track operational metrics such as MTTD, MTTR, alert fidelity, and incident trends.
• Own the cyber incident response program, develop playbooks, and lead executive‑level crisis response across IT, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Communications, and Operations.
• Integrate incident response plans with business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational recovery procedures.
• Lead Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategy to ensure critical services are maintained or restored during disruptions.
• Coordinate with business leaders to validate critical processes and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience leading cybersecurity operations in a large, regulated financial services environment.
• Proven track record managing SOCs, incident response programs, and business continuity initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking and executive communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across IT, legal, risk, compliance, and operations teams.
