Vice President of Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Construction to lead all construction operations for our growing organization in the Houston market and surrounding regions. This executive role oversees project execution, operational excellence, financial performance, safety, quality, and team development across multiple large‑scale projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for all construction activities in Houston and nearby areas.
• Develop and execute construction strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
• Lead project executives, managers, superintendents, and field teams to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Oversee planning, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Establish quality control standards and operational best practices.
• Monitor financial performance, profitability, forecasting, and risk management.
• Foster relationships with clients, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and local building codes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, technology adoption, and operational excellence.
• Mentor and develop future construction leaders while promoting a collaborative, high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience, including at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven success managing large‑scale commercial, industrial, healthcare, multifamily, or mixed‑use projects.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing multimillion‑dollar budgets and P&L.
• Deep understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, estimating, safety regulations, and delivery methods.
