Vice President, M&A Investment Banking – New York

About the role

Santander is seeking a Vice President to join its Investment Banking Mergers & Acquisitions team in New York. You will lead the origination and execution of complex M&A transactions while building strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Support origination and lead execution of M&A advisory transactions.
• Manage day‑to‑day deal processes, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
• Oversee development and quality control of financial models and client presentation materials.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on deal execution matters.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in collaboration with senior bankers.
• Mentor and guide Analysts and Associates.
• Travel as required by senior deal team members or clients.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience as an M&A Investment Banker or coverage banker at a bulge‑bracket or leading boutique firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field (required); MBA preferred.
• Proven transaction execution experience and strong leadership, client relationship, and negotiation skills.
• Advanced technical and strategic advisory capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and synthesize large amounts of information.
