Vice President, Human Resources Operations

About the role

This strategic leadership position will shape enterprise‑wide HR operations for a fast‑paced, mission‑driven organization in the United States. Reporting to executive leadership, the Vice President, Human Resources Operations will drive transformational initiatives that enhance employee experience, operational excellence, and organizational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long‑term HR operations strategy focused on employee experience, efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness.
• Oversee employee lifecycle management, compliance reporting, benefits administration, HR systems, and policy implementation.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on workforce strategy, compliance matters, and talent systems optimization.
• Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and keep policies and handbooks up‑to‑date.
• Design scalable HR processes, systems, and service standards to support growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing HR operations team.
• Establish KPIs, operational metrics, and reporting frameworks for continuous improvement.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders on strategic initiatives, workforce planning, and employee engagement.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resources to ensure ROI.
• Support change‑management initiatives and lead transformational projects across HR operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in employee relations, labor relations, public administration, education, or similar environments.
• At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong strategic vision, systems thinking, and ability to navigate complex organizational environments.
