Veterinary Technician Assistant – Full-Time

About the role

The Veterinary Assistant/Receiving Technician works rotating shifts between 7 am and 7 pm Monday‑Friday, typically four 10‑hour days. The role provides basic patient care and assists surgeons during appointments, ensuring high‑quality service for both patients and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during patient appointments, handling animals and equipment as needed.
• Perform receiving duties, including patient intake, record entry, and preparation of treatment areas.
• Provide support to surgeons and other staff to maintain smooth clinic operations.
• Stand, walk, and use hands to handle patients; lift up to 50 lb alone or 100 lb+ with assistance.
• Follow safety rules, maintain a clean work environment, and adhere to clinic procedures.
• Perform basic data entry and computer tasks related to patient records.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills for measuring and dosing (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Problem‑solving ability within company policy and patient‑care guidelines.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and lift as described.
• Ability to follow written, oral, and scheduled instructions accurately.

Required skills
