Veterinary Surgery & Anesthesia Technician – Annapolis

About the role

Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists (CVSS) in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to support surgery and anesthesia cases. You will work alongside board‑certified surgeons, residents, interns, and seasoned RVTs in a high‑volume, specialty hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with pre‑operative patient preparation, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and drug calculations.
• Monitor and recover patients under anesthesia, adjusting fluids and CRIs as needed.
• Scrub in for soft‑tissue and orthopedic surgeries, ensuring sterile technique.
• Clean, wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments and maintain the surgical suite.
• Administer medications via IV or other routes and support post‑operative care.

Required profile

• 2+ years of veterinary surgery/anesthesia experience (registered technician preferred).
• Commitment to outstanding client service, patient care, and a positive hospital culture.
• Proactive, initiative‑taking attitude with the ability to contribute to overall hospital operations.
• Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and expand technical skills.
