Veterinary Medical Director

About the role

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers, a family-owned multi-specialty and emergency veterinary group with hospitals across Florida and South Carolina, is looking for an experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead its team in Brandon, Florida. The role manages both medical operations and staff mentoring, with a 50/50 split between clinical work and administrative duties.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the veterinary team, fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performing workplace
• Oversee medical operations and establish care protocols
• Drive continuous improvement in patient care and client services
• Partner with the Chief Medical Officer, COO, CEO and hospital leadership to refine medical practices and implement new policies
• Mentor the team and build strong relationships with referring veterinarians
• Stay current on veterinary medicine and provide hands-on care for complex cases
• Ensure regulatory compliance, address client concerns and help develop new talent

Required profile

• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Florida
• Minimum of two years of experience in a veterinary specialty practice or an equivalent clinical leadership role
