Veterinary Technician - ICU Daytime

About the role

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers, a family-owned veterinary hospital, is looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians to join its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team in Brandon, Florida. You will work closely with a team of boarded specialists, ER doctors and ICU colleagues in a fast-paced environment, providing compassionate care to pets during their most critical moments.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition in an emergency and critical care setting
• Assist veterinarians with emergency procedures, including triage, wound care and life-saving interventions
• Administer medications, treatments and injections as prescribed by the veterinary team
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies needed for emergency procedures
• Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood work and urinalysis
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets' conditions, treatments and progress
• Keep the workspace organized and well-stocked and work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians and support staff

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT or RVT), preferred
• Previous ICU experience is required
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical protocols and procedures
