Veterinary Technician - Medical Oncology

About the role

A family-owned hospital dedicated to caring for pets in its community is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join its Oncology team at its Brandon Hospital. The role provides specialized care to pets undergoing treatment for cancer.

Key responsibilities

• Handle and restrain pets during procedures and treatments
• Administer sedation and induce anesthesia
• Monitor sedated and anesthetized patients
• Prepare, calculate and administer medications as prescribed
• Monitor patients and document vital signs and response to treatment
• Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures such as imaging studies and laboratory work
• Maintain and update patient records
• Provide compassionate care and support to pets and their owners
• Keep the Oncology department clean and organized

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician is preferred
