Validation Specialist – Radiation Therapy

About the role

Varian Medical Systems, a Siemens Healthineers company, is seeking a Validation Specialist to join its Product Validation team in Palo Alto, California. The role focuses on representing the voice of radiation therapists and medical dosimetrists, ensuring that new oncology devices and software meet clinical safety and effectiveness standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design validation activities for radiation therapy products, creating and executing test plans that demonstrate compliance with intended use.
• Collaborate with Product Management, User Experience, and Design Engineering to translate clinical workflows into product requirements.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks, usability issues, and potential hazards, providing feedback to improve product design.
• Support ongoing maintenance of Oncology Information Systems, Treatment Planning Management Systems, and Treatment Delivery & Imaging Systems.
• Participate in risk and hazard analyses, ensuring traceability between requirements, tests, and mitigations.

Required profile

• Clinical experience in Radiation Oncology or Medical Dosimetry.
• Strong analytical and logical problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work on‑site in the Palo Alto region or willingness to relocate.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
