Utility / Dishwasher – Part-Time

About the role

Brandywine at Longwood, a senior living community in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, is hiring a part-time Utility worker who reports to the Culinary Services Director. This is a non-exempt, hourly position paid $16.00-$17.00 per hour, working 11am to 7:30pm on some weekdays and every other weekend. The worker performs general kitchen cleaning and dishwashing duties while serving staff and residents.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean work environment in line with sanitation standard operating procedures.
• Wash equipment used for meals and cooking activities.
• Clean, prep and wash pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, cups and silverware, and store them properly.
• Check that chemical dispensers work and that cleaning supplies are adequate.
• Use safety equipment to meet OSHA standards.
• Empty and clean kitchen garbage from the kitchen to the dumpster.
• Help remove soiled dishes from the dining room during meal service and return them to the dishwashing station.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior service and/or kitchen experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and use proper body mechanics when lifting residents.
