Part-Time Cook - Senior Living Community

About the role

Monarch Communities, a senior living operator focused on person-centric wellness, is looking for a part-time Cook to prepare meals for its senior living residents, their families and guests. The Cook reports to the Director of Culinary Services and prepares a complete menu that meets the community's needs. Part-time shifts are available every other weekend.

Key responsibilities

• Study recipes, set up menus and prepare high-quality dishes.
• Prepare and serve quality meals, meeting special dietary needs and preparing texture-modified food as directed.
• Keep accurate records, receive, rotate and inventory products, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor food preparation, storage and handling to meet HACCP, labeling and storage protocols.
• Maintain accurate hot and cold food, refrigerator and freezer temperature logs.

Required profile

• Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain it.
• One year of job-related experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items and special diets.
• High school diploma or GED accepted.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with sound judgment, problem-solving and decision-making.
• Able to stand, walk, lift or carry up to 50 lbs and use proper body mechanics.
