U.S. Army Perioperative Nurse (Active Duty/Reserve)

About the role

The U.S. Army is seeking qualified Perioperative Nurses to join its Nursing Corps. In this role you will provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after operations, supporting both active‑duty and reserve units.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organize nursing services for surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Supervise patient experience throughout the operative journey in coordination with the surgical team.
• Provide clinical, administrative, safety, educational, and research support as an officer.
• Participate in training, seminars, and conferences to stay current with perioperative practices.
• For Reserve nurses, serve soldiers, families, and veterans while maintaining community involvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN‑accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted nursing license and successful NCLEX completion.
• At least 1 year of full‑time perioperative nursing experience for Active Duty applicants (or 6 months RN experience within the past year for Reserve).
• Completion of the 66E Perioperative Nursing Course or documented equivalent experience.
• U.S. citizenship for Active Duty positions.

• Understanding of military medical standards and regulations.
