Upright Bass Teacher

About the role

Ensemble Schools is looking for an enthusiastic upright bass teacher to provide in‑person private lessons at The Music Shop in Boonton, New Jersey. The position is part‑time and offers flexible scheduling within the school’s open hours.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one upright bass instruction to students of various ages and skill levels.
• Prepare lesson plans that align with each student’s goals and the school’s curriculum.
• Maintain a punctual and reliable teaching schedule.
• Communicate student progress to parents and school staff.
• Ensure the instrument and teaching space are kept in good condition.

Required profile

• Degree in music performance, music pedagogy, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching and experience working with young musicians.
• Reliable transportation to travel to the Boonton location.
• Ability to pass a routine background check.

Required skills

• Proficiency on the upright bass.
