University Registrar – Leadership Role in Student Services

About the role

The University Registrar at Fresno State provides senior leadership for the campus’s student services operations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions & Records, the role oversees key functions such as degree evaluation, registration, academic records, transfer credit and course articulation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage staff across Undergraduate Degree Evaluations, Degree Audit, Transfer Credit, Registration, Academic Records and Articulation.
• Design and implement degree certification processes, registration appointment systems, athletic certification handling, My Degree Plan and course articulation workflows.
• Supervise Assistant Registrars in areas of degree audit, graduation, academic records and registration, monitoring workload and ensuring alignment with university goals.
• Collaborate daily with university administrators, faculty, staff, students and external partners to maintain the integrity of student records and degree awards.
• Provide policy input, review procedures, and analyze outcomes to support student success and compliance with accreditation and legal requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of registrar functions and effective use of technology.
• Understanding of university regulations, accreditation standards, transfer credit policies and applicable state and federal laws.
• Familiarity with academic standards, NCAA requirements and student records policies.
• General budgeting and fiscal management experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present clearly to internal and external audiences.
• Proven leadership and management capabilities.

• Competitive salary range of $115,000‑$125,000 per year.
