Ultrasound Technologist PRN

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN Ultrasound Technologist in Redmond, Georgia. The schedule is as needed, with a call required, and the shift is day. The technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support accurate diagnosis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to provider orders, departmental protocols and imaging standards.
• Acquire and analyze ultrasound images and data so that studies are complete and suitable for radiologist interpretation.
• Verify patient identity, confirm exam appropriateness and obtain relevant clinical history before examining.
• Position patients and operate ultrasound equipment safely, adjusting technical factors and scanning techniques for optimal images.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and PACS systems and collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; graduation from an accredited program.
• Conversational reading, writing and speaking of English.
• Continuing education and annual education requirements kept up to date, with registries and licenses current.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision and to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
• Preferred: experience with breast, prostate, obstetric, pediatric, neuro and vascular sonography.

Required skills

• Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics, cross-sectional and vascular anatomy and Doppler techniques.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn radiology software and PACS applications.
• Patient care and communication skills with patients of all ages, including sensitive topics.
• Licenses: Basic Life Support (CPR); and one of RVS, RT(VS)/RVT, RDMS-AB, RDMS-OBGYN, RMSKS, RDMS-PS, RT(BS) or RDMS-BR.

Pay range: $19.07 - $51.49.
