Med Surg / Tele Days StaffFlex Contract RN

About the role

AdventHealth is offering a 13-week StaffFlex contract for Med Surg / Tele Days, open to nurses with current or recent acute care or Med Surg experience. The schedule is PRN day shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with weekend rotation, no on-call duty, and a stated rate of $70 per hour plus shift differentials.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and continuously, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
• Implement interventions from the plan of care safely and document actions taken.
• Collect and document patient health data systematically and on time.
• Collaborate with colleagues and follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer to promote timely placement.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families on their conditions, procedures and care plans.
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensure safe handoffs, and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's preferred.
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing).
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC preferred.
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state.

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs.
