Trusts & Estates Associate (3-5 Years) – Philadelphia

About the role

We are seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our Philadelphia Estates & Trusts practice. The role involves advising high‑net‑worth clients on sophisticated estate planning and tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning, wealth transfer, and trust administration.
• Draft and revise estate planning documents such as revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, and powers of attorney.
• Support business succession planning for closely held business owners.
• Analyze estate, gift, generation‑skipping transfer, and income tax issues and develop tax‑efficient strategies.
• Collaborate with corporate and transactional attorneys on business restructuring and liquidity events.
• Work with clients, accountants, and financial advisors to implement planning recommendations.

Required profile

• J.D. required; LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.
• 3‑5 years of experience in trusts and estates, estate planning, or related tax planning.
• Strong analytical, drafting, organizational, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of federal estate, gift, and income tax principles.
• Experience drafting estate planning documents (trusts, wills, powers of attorney).
• Ability to manage assignments independently while collaborating with partners and senior attorneys.
