Travel MRI Technologist (RadForce)

About the role

Jefferson Health is hiring a travel MRI Technologist for its RadForce program, an internal workforce of skilled technologists who float between Jefferson Health locations to meet areas of highest demand. Technologists are hired into tiers depending on how many regions they float between: Tier 1 within one region, Tier 2 between two regions, and Tier 3 between three regions. The work shifts are rotating.

Key responsibilities

• Perform MRI scans under the supervision of a radiologist to produce detailed tissue images for diagnosis.
• Prepare information for physicians and the care team, and deliver patient care and education before, during and after imaging.
• Instruct patients on body positioning and explain the MRI procedure before and after scanning.
• Evaluate image quality (density contrast, definition, distortion) and determine equipment needs and scout films from the physician's tentative diagnosis.
• Maintain MRI equipment through scheduled cleaning and testing, document results and report malfunctions.
• Implement MRI safety guidelines and respond to emergent situations.
• Perform other related duties, including quality assurance and control, as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active MRI certification.
• State license as required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques and applications.
• Ability to prepare patients for imaging and monitor their reactions during and after procedures.
