About the role
Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) is looking for a summer Transportation Planning Intern to join its Omaha, Nebraska or Des Moines, Iowa office. The internship is based on FHU's core values and offers hands-on experience within a project team, guided by experienced professionals. It is open to graduate or upper-level undergraduate students in Urban/Regional Planning or a related field.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct technical analyses and write documentation as part of project teams
- Work on multi-modal transportation plans for cities and counties, corridor studies, transit development plans, bicycle and pedestrian plans, and environmental assessments
- Research transportation planning topics
- Support client and stakeholder meetings and presentations
- Provide public engagement support for planning projects
Required profile
- Graduate or upper-level undergraduate student in Urban/Regional Planning or a related field
- Available for a 3-month timeframe
- Preferred: previous coursework and demonstrated interest in transportation planning
Required skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
The starting pay is $23.00 per hour. The application deadline is 12/31/2026.
