Transit Bus Driver (Part-Time)

About the role
The Transit Bus Driver will operate East Texas A&M University’s transit routes on a part‑time basis, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for students, staff, and visitors while providing courteous customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Drive scheduled bus routes according to the university’s timetable.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist passengers with route information, boarding, and alighting.
- Maintain a safe driving environment and adhere to all traffic and university regulations.
- Complete required paperwork and communicate any service disruptions to supervisors.
Required profile
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work part‑time hours as scheduled.
- Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
- Capability to work under supervision and follow established procedures.
Required skills
- Safe vehicle operation and defensive driving.
- Route navigation and schedule adherence.
- Passenger assistance and basic conflict resolution.
