Training Manager

About the role

The Training Manager will design, implement and sustain the training strategy for Benteler’s Steel/Tube operations. This role ensures that all employees receive the safety, quality and job‑specific instruction needed to perform independently and consistently across shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the site training strategy, annual training plan and role‑based qualification matrices for operations, maintenance, logistics and support functions.
• Lead onboarding and new‑hire integration, guaranteeing completion of required safety, quality and job‑specific training before independent work.
• Create, review and control training content (work instructions, SOPs, visual standards, OJT checklists and assessments) together with subject‑matter experts.
• Implement a standardized OJT/qualification process and administer the training record system (LMS and/or SAP) to track, audit and certify employee competencies.
• Support EHS programs (LOTO, mobile equipment, fall prevention, confined space, PPE) by keeping related training current and documented.
• Coordinate training for new equipment, process changes, quality alerts and corrective actions, ensuring affected staff are trained before implementation.
• Facilitate classroom, hands‑on and blended learning sessions, managing internal and external instructors and logistics.
• Develop site trainers and mentors, establishing expectations, standard work and coaching routines.
• Conduct training needs analyses using performance data, audits and stakeholder feedback to close skill gaps.
• Plan and schedule training around production requirements to minimise operational disruption.
