Training & Learning Specialist

About the role

The Training & Learning Specialist will design and deliver engaging training experiences for Texans Together staff, foster/adoptive parents, and community participants. Working both in‑person and virtually, you will ensure that all learners receive consistent, high‑quality instruction that supports the organization’s mission to improve outcomes for children in the Texas foster care system.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate instructor‑led training sessions in classroom, virtual, and e‑learning environments, adapting methods to diverse learner needs.
• Lead virtual refresher and compliance courses for tenured staff, incorporating policy updates and practice shifts.
• Coordinate logistics for workshops, including material preparation, technology setup, and platform testing.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and program leaders to keep curriculum current and aligned with organizational goals.
• Maintain accurate attendance, completion, and evaluation records in the learning management system.
• Provide real‑time verbal feedback and written assessments on assignments, supporting skill application and knowledge retention.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering instructor‑led and virtual training to adult learners.
• Strong ability to create interactive, learner‑centered environments.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program teams and compliance officers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Learning Management System (LMS) for tracking attendance, completions, and evaluations.
